Dr Candice Franich-Ray

Clinical Psychologist

Candice works with infants, children, adolescents, young adults and families to provide assessment and therapy. She approaches therapy with a gentle and welcoming manner, working collaboratively with the individual, families, schools and allied health professionals. Candice is committed to learning about those she works with and is curious and interested in their world.

Areas of interest

Specialising in developmental assessments and goal-based intervention for babies, pre-school and school-aged children with, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety, depression, emotional regulation
  • Trauma, adjustment to life events
  • Friendship, work and behaviour challenges
  • Academic/learning difficulties
  • Supporting children who are in out of home care and their carers
  • Autism, PDA, ADHD
  • Supporting parenting and parent well being

Drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy and Attachment Theory, Candice tailors assessment and therapy to the individual and has a flexible approach. Her practice is neuroaffirming and inclusive.

Candice has completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology specialising in Children and Adolescents, a Graduate Diploma and Advanced Training in Infant and Parent Mental Health and a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience. She has worked in community, hospital, school and private settings, including working at the Royal Children’s Hospital for many years. Candice is a Board approved supervisor and has experience in teaching and research.
